RBR Staff Writer Published 05 September 2017

China-based online retail company LightInTheBox has entered into a strategic alliance with Gati to expand its e-commerce business in India.

With this partnership, LightInTheBox plans to deliver its Chinese products using Gati's pan Indian expertise in logistics and warehousing.

To provide online Chinese merchants with a faster access in India, the Chinese company will incorporate its global cross-border open logistics platform, LanTing ZhiTong, within Gati's logistics and warehousing network.

The collaboration aims to cut down the delivery time and enhance the customer satisfaction. To meet the criteria, both companies will mutually work on online payment solutions, big data analytics, and general business development initiatives, including local warehousing and fulfillment solutions in India.

Gati's cross-border logistics solutions between China and India will help in improving speed reliability, and cost of delivery of LightInTheBox parcels to India.

Gati chief strategy officer Dhruv Agarwal said: "This is a key partnership for Gati and through our strong network and infrastructure we will help bring a large range of global products to customers across India."

Founded in 1989, Gati is a specialist in express distribution and supply chain solutions in India and delivers about six million packages per month.

It has expanded its services in serving business solutions in Air & Surface Distribution, e-Commerce logistics, warehousing, eFulfilment, freight forwarding and cold chain.

The logistics company has more than 5,000 strong fleet, including refrigerated vehicles and world class warehousing facilities across India.
